News articles about COVID-19 regularly ask, “When can we return to normal?” As Indigenous people working at an Indigenous-led organization, we’re asking a much different question: “What could a new normal look like?” Rather than returning to the pre-COVID-19 world, we’re trying to create an entirely new one.
Now, more than ever, we’re thinking about how to rebuild our systems in a truly Indigenous way. Our three-part virtual event series explores this idea; each free event features a conversation between two Indigenous changemakers who are actively working to develop a positive path forward for their nations.
For the third and final event in our series, Tipiziwin Tolman (Cohort 6 Rebuilder) and Grace Goldtooth (Lower Sioux Indian Community Vice President and Cohort 4 Rebuilder) discuss ways to Indigenize our future by embracing our core values. The event also includes an audience Q & A portion.
